Orienteering @ Black Mountain Veterans Park
June 30, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Pre-register Here
Join us Saturday, June 30 any time between 10am-2pm at Black Mountain Veterans Park for an open orienteering meet!
=== NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY ===
The site of WNCOC’s first open meet nearly a year ago, Black Mountain Veterans Park is one of the most exciting and varied maps we have. Between the baseball diamonds, wooded disc golf course, tunnel under the interstate, community garden, grassy open meadows dotted with thick clumps of dark green, the track and manor house and greenway…. the place is like a dozen maps in one!
Four courses will be available to appeal to EVERYBODY, and by everybody I mean runners, hikers, walkers, shufflers, moseyers, saunterers, sightseers, lolligaggers, wheeler dealers and smooth O-perators. I also mean families and dogs and kids! Orienteering is 100% KID FRIENDLY and believe me, they love it!
This is a FREE event (but, a $5+ donation is very much appreciated!)
Courses will be the usual fare of White (beginner short,) Yellow (beginner medium,) Orange (intermediate medium,) and Red (expert long.) Run as many courses as you like.
SCHEDULE
