Three course options for Saturday.
– One Man Relay; mass start 10am
– Non-timed, Beginner course; open start 10am-12pm
– A la carte Fourth Course; open start 10am-12pm
Since everyone enjoyed the “One Man Relay” format at Jim Hall-O-Ween, let’s do it again next weekend at Thanksgiving ThrOdown!
In case you don’t know, a “One Man Relay” functions like this: each runner/group stands before a stack of FOUR maps, all face down. The race begins as a mass start. You take the top map and run a short course (the first leg,) returning to the stack to run the next leg. The clock stops between legs, when you download your results and clear your fingerstick. Everybody’s first three maps are in random order and are short in length. The fourth map is the same for everybody, and is a longer, middle-ish distance course. The lowest combined time wins, and expect to spend between 1 and 3 hours to complete all four courses.
This format is exciting and very social, as the Start/Finish area is abuzz with people coming and going the whole time.
For beginners (and those not up for the whole relay nonsense) there will again be a non-timed White level course that they can start any time in the 10am-12pm window, as well as an “a la carte option” where you can run just the fourth relay map as a standalone, middle-distance course and begin any time during the 10am-12pm window.
