Our debut MapRun Monday in South Carolina was a success, with lots of new faces, including families and pets!
Special thanks to Mark Pittman, whose invitation (read: instigation) was the catalyst for what will undoubtedly be a lot more street orienteering in and around Greenville. Thank you for bringing your family, friends, and Monday Milers!
Greenville is an excellent city for street orienteering, and the evening’s course focused on the scenic and beautiful Falls Park on the Reedy River, accessed by the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Our venue, The Community Tap Trailside in The Commons at Unity Park was PERFECT. We can’t wait to return for Round 2 in the future, if for no other reason than for me to try those tacos, which I’m kicking myself for not getting.
Speaking of “not getting,” I didn’t get nearly as many pictures with people as I would have liked, so please feel free to share your photos on social media and tag the WNC Orienteering Club on our Facebook @WNCOC or Instagram @wncorienteering
Altogether, we had 30 people in attendance, with 20 discrete results in MapRun. All five courses were used this time!
