We’re teaming up with the Lookout Brewing Running Club on Sunday, March 17th to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day with a very unique O’Rienteering experience!
The Start location will be at Lookout Brewing in Black Mountain. Starts will be staggered, beginning at 12pm, with the last possible start at 2pm. Cutoff will be 4pm.
You will begin with Map #1, which reveals the first 3 controls leading to The Oaks and Black Mountain Veterans Park, less than a mile away through town. The route between controls 3 and 4 will be casually marked in flour on the ground, ensuring you arrive to the first Map Exchange where you will receive Map #2, which has controls 4 through 10, located inside the park. Similar to the outbound trip, there will be a floured route to control 10, which is the second Map Exchange. There, you will receive Map #3, with the final few controls to be found on the way back to Lookout Brewing.
There will be two versions of Map #2 – an Easy version and a Not So Easy version, depending on how much you want to bite off. Maps #1 and #3 will be the same regardless of which “park map” you choose.
Distance — this will be kind of a “Pink” course — a combination of the easy control placement of a “White” course and the length of a “Red” course.
Regular map fees of $10 will apply, with a 50% discount for Lookout Brewing Running Club members. This event is CASH ONLY
Timing will be electronic and the beer will be cold.
This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY event and leashed children and pets are welcome!
